The ceremony’s over. The family photos are done. It’s your time now. This is the half hour before sunset where we’re literally shooting into the sun setting. This is prime time to get the prettiest photos in the best light we’ll get all day. Now, not all light is created equal. I get a lot of questions about adverse weather and what to do about overcast/rainy days. I see “sunset” as a period of the day versus the classic bright, shining sun setting we all picture when we think of “golden hour”.
Overcast light is incredible for photos because that means there’s no shadows and your skin will look amazing. It’s nice flat light that is forgiving to your skin. Also, don’t worry if it rains. We will find some cover and make magic wherever. I’m not worried about weather ever. We can’t control it so my attitude is to stay positive and make the best of it.
